Juventus defeated Borussia Dortmund 2-1 at the Signal Iduna Park in the final friendly before both sides get their campaigns underway.
Scorers: Beier 89'; Cambiaso 16', 53'
An opening tap-in from close range put Juventus on the scoresheet in the 16th minute when Andrea Cambiaso popped up in the box to set La Vecchia Signora up and running on the day.
The Italian international wing-back finished off his second goal of the afternoon less than ten minutes after the restart, leaving Dortmund shot-stopper Gregor Kobel with no chance to turn it away.
Die Schwarzgelben rarely threatened in front of home support, with Niko Kovač making four changes just after the hour mark in a bid to get Dortmund back in the game as the German giants remained laborious overall despite flashes of promise in the attacking third.
Second-half substitute Maximilian Beier would finally get Dortmund on the scoresheet in the 89th minute when the former Hoffenheim man received a pass from Julian Brandt before turning to rifle into the top corner at the near post to give the home crowd something to celebrate.
The match would end on the same 2-1 scoreline, with the Germans primed to begin their 2025/26 campaign in earnest against Rot-Weiss Essen in the first round of the DFB Pokal next Monday.
