According to reports from Italy, Juventus want to sign Bernd Leno to replace Wojciech Szczesny, who has taken an absolute battering this week in the media there.

Bernd Leno is out of contract in 2023 but widely expected to leave Arsenal next summer with Aaron Ramsdale ready to take his number one shirt.

Juventus, however, are considering a move in January for the German, as they look to get rid of Wojciech Szczesny who has endured what seems to be a torrid start to the season.

His name was all over all the Italian press this week, every day bringing numerous articles about how poor he has been this season.

Juventus boss, Massimiliano Allegri, is said to have faith in the Pole, however, although he’s unlikely to come out and say otherwise at this point.

Szczesny, now 31, has conceded five goals in three Serie A games with no cleansheets just yet, although he kept one in the Champions League against Malmo this week.

I wouldn’t read too much into this rumour at this stage.

The Italian press have always been a bit prickly about Woj, but there was a reason he was selected to replace Gianluigi Buffon – it’s because he’s a really good goalkeeper.

I doubt Juventus are going to throw that away to bring in Bernd Leno who, despite being a player I like, is nowhere near as good as Woj.

Still not over Arsenal selling him, tbh.
