Juventus are sensationally trying to steal Hellas Verona full-back Juan Cabal from under the noses of rivals Inter, as his agent is in Turin for talks and agreed a €12m transfer.
Just hours ago there were multiple sources claiming a deal had been done to bring the Colombia international to San Siro for €10m.
Suddenly, Sportitalia and Sky Sport Italia both report that Juve have intervened and Cabal’s agent is in Turin to speak directly to the Bianconeri.
They maintain that Juve are offering closer to €12m including add-ons and have agreed personal terms with the player too.
It is hardly the first time that these two rivals clubs have gone after the same transfer target, but this time it really was seemingly a done deal for Inter.
This adds to a complicated summer for the 23-year-old, who can play as a left-back, a wing-back or a central defender.
He had previously agreed terms with Lazio, only for the club to turn towards Nuno Tavares of Arsenal instead.
Everton and Stade Rennes had also been heavily linked with him in recent weeks.
Hellas Verona purchased the player from Atletico Nacional in the summer of 2022 for €3.5m.
He made 33 Serie A appearances for the team, along with one in the Serie A relegation play-off.
