Sofyan Amrabat lines up ahead of the Coppa Italia final.
Man Utd could lose out on the signing of Sofyan Amrabat to Juventus with the Serie A side making a late entry in the race for the Fiorentina midfielder, according to reports.
The Red Devils have already brought in Mason Mount, Andre Onana and Rasmus Hojlund this summer with the Red Devils still hoping to sign a midfielder and a centre-back before the end of the transfer window.
Widespread reports have indicated that Amrabat is their main target to improve midfield with Man Utd waiting to offload Fred and Donny van de Beek first before they make a serious offer.
One report over the last 24 hours has insisted that a deal has already been agreed between the clubs for around £21m, while the Morocco international gave the OK to join Man Utd weeks ago.
However, the Red Devils are currently stalling on completing a deal while they look to move some squad players on and raise some transfer funds.
And now Gazzetta dello Sport (via the Manchester Evening News) claims that Juventus are ready to ‘snatch’ Amrabat away from Man Utd if they carry on delaying a deal.
The transfer for Amrabat is ‘dependent on player sales’ which means it ‘cannot go ahead instantly’ and Juventus are now looking to ‘act quickly’ in order to beat Man Utd to the Moroccan.
And the MEN also claims that Japanese goalkeeper Zion Suzuki has ‘rejected Manchester United’ and decided to move to Belgian outfit STVV instead.
There have been rumours for a while that Man Utd were interested in bringing the Urawa Red Diamonds stopper to Old Trafford as a back-up goalkeeper.
Man Utd had ‘agreed a fee’ for Suzuki but the MEN suggests that the Red Devils would be likely to loan him out as they felt the 20-year-old ‘needed two more years before he was ready to have an impact in the Premier League’.
The Red Devils drew their final pre-season match 1-1 against Athletic Bilbao in Dublin on Sunday with Facundo Pellestri scoring a stoppage-time equaliser for Erik ten Hag’s men.
And Ten Hag was delighted by his players’ attitude to fight back from a goal down to secure a draw against the ten men of Bilbao.
Ten Hag said: “We don’t give up. We fight until the end. Finally, we got the equaliser and I thought it was justified.
“We wanted a good result, to finish the pre-season well.”
