Juventus have reportedly joined the gaggle of clubs interested in signing Barcelona outcast Philippe Coutinho.

The former Liverpool playmaker, who is on loan at Bayern Munich this season, has been repeatedly linked with a return to the Premier League.

Coutinho has shown some glimpses of his old best for Bayern, but the Bundesliga leaders have made it clear they have no intention of signing him on a permanent basis.

Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and Newcastle are all said to be monitoring the diminutive Brazilian’s situation.

However, this time Serie A is the mooted destination for the 27-year-old.

And the report from Tuttosport (via the Daily Star), would appear to make sense for the clubs involved.

Juve midfielder Miralem Pjanić is determined to move to Barça this summer, with the Italians seemingly open to letting the Bosnia and Herzegovina international fulfil his wish.

Tuttosport claim that Bianconeri boss Maurizio Sarri wants to see at least one player come in the opposite direction as part of the deal.

Inevitably, Coutinho’s name has been thrown into the mix in that scenario.

The former Anfield favourite is understood to prefer a return to England, but the opportunity to play at another of Europe’s most prestigious clubs may appeal.

Coutinho’s £130m move from Merseyside to the Nou Camp in January 2018 has been an unmitigated disaster for both him and the Catalans.

The sooner he can find a new club that can make the most of his undoubted talents, the better for all concerned.
