According to Foot Mercato, Juventus remain confident of appointing Bologna head coach Thiago Motta as their new manager in the summer. Despite continued speculation with the former PSG defensive midfielder, Max Allegri remains in charge at the Turin club.
Motta has emerged as one of Europe’s most promising coaches this season after a stellar season at the helm of Serie A club Bologna. The Bolognese club have pushed massively above their weight under the former Italian international and have qualified for European football next season. This has piqued the interest of several clubs across the continent with the Old Lady at the front of the queue.
Despite Juventus’ strong interest in appointing Motta, the question of Allegri’s future at the club remains. The Italian manager still has a year left on his contract meaning that Juventus would be forced to pay a substantial sum to relieve him from his contract. That sum is reportedly around €6m, according to Foot Mercato.
