Juventus set to swoop for second Chelsea squad player – West Ham and Everton also keen

Chelsea have had a great connection with AC Milan over the last ten years, sending a lot of players there on loan and selling them to the San Siro for a good price when they’re not longer needed at Stamford Bridge.

But this month it looks like Juventus have taken over their role as our chief Serie A outlet. First up we have Renato Veiga, who completed his loan move to Turin earlier this week. He will stay until the end of the season – and possibly beyond, if all goes well.

Now there is pretty serious talk coming from the well connected Ben Jacobs that another Blue could be on his way to join him. Carney Chukwuemeka has been frozen out all year, missed most of last season due to injury and played irregularly in the season before that. A move to Juventus out of nowhere would be a real coup for him if he can make it work.

Jacobs says that Everton and West Ham are also interested, and our sister club Strasbourg could also be a possibility – although that feels a bit like an “if all else fails” setup.

Everyone’s interests align in Chukwuemeka loan decision

Chukwuemeka’s move to Juventus would be a loan – the same would be true of West Ham or Everton, we’d imagine. It’s then up to the individual clubs to negotiate a purchase clause should they want one. From Chelsea’s point of view, Chukwuemeka has plenty of contract left, and the focus will be on getting him onto the pitch to start building his value for a sale.

The real question is – why they didn’t get this done in the summer. This has been a wasted 6 months of Carney’s career even just from a player trading point of view.
