Chelsea want to sign Matthijs de Ligt from Juventus this summer, but Bianconeri’s exorbitant asking price for the Dutch has led the Blues to introduce a counterpart.

According to journalist Daniele Longo, Juventus would be happy to take Timo Werner as part of the Matthijs de Ligt transfer. But he claims that a bridgable distance remains intact between supply and demand on the economic front of the deal.

As mentioned previously, De Ligt has a release clause of around €120 million in his current contract that runs until June 2024, meaning that the Bianconeri are in no hurry to offload the services of the 22-year-old.

The prospect of playing for the Premier League side interests the Dutchman, who has already expressed concerns over Juventus failing to attain the Scudetto in the last two seasons.
