Juventus reignite interest in Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho

Juventus are reportedly still interested in taking Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho on loan.

The Red Devils have enjoyed a whirlwind of transfer activity over the last couple of days as they announced the double signing of Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui from Bayern Munich.

They have also recently sold Aaron Wan-Bissaka to West Ham United and are not done in the market as they are reportedly chasing a defensive midfielder and a left back as it was announced Luke Shaw will be out of action until after the international break.

One player who has been linked to a departure from the club all summer, despite a rapprochement with manager Erik ten Hag, is Jadon Sancho.

Paris Saint-Germain are said to maintain an interest in the English winger and want to seal a loan deal with an obligation to buy with the Red Devils, as they are also in discussion with United over the transfer of Manuel Ugarte to Manchester.

While PSG have been the team most repeatedly linked to the 24 year old as of late, reports in Italy suggest that there is another side lurking in the background.

La Gazzetta dello Sport report that while Francisco Conceiçao remains Juventus’ priority to strengthen their wings, they also have a plan B, as Red Bull Leipzig are providing strong competition for the winger.

According to the Italian outlet, “this is why Juventus is forced to evaluate various last-minute options: from the loans of the expensive Sancho (Manchester United) and Sterling (Chelsea) to that of Domenico Berardi.”

The Old Lady were heavily linked to Sancho at the start of the summer window back in June and the England international was reportedly keen on the move.

The Serie A giants were also said to be interested in a swap deal involving Federico Chiesa but it has not materialised as of yet.

It was reported at the start of the month that Juve had given up hope of signing the attacker due to his price.

Nonetheless, this latest development could re-open the case for Sancho to go to Italy and could give United some more leverage in discussions with PSG.

There is no doubt that the sale or even loan could free up wage space and money that could be spent on strengthening others areas of the squad, such as the midfield, with only 16 days left before the window slams shut once more until January.
