Matteo Moretto reports Juventus and Weston McKennie are still far from reaching an agreement over a new deal, so the American midfielder will be put on the market if he doesn’t extend his stay beyond 2025.

Football Italia transfer expert Matteo Moretto reports on X, formerly Twitter, that Juventus are ready to put USMNT star Weston McKennie on the market if the 25-year-old doesn’t sign a contract extension at the Allianz Stadium.

Moretto reveals that the two parties are ‘far’ from reaching an agreement and that McKennie will be put on the market without a contract extension. His current deal at the Allianz Stadium runs out in June 2025.

It is reported that clubs outside Europe have sounded out the midfielder’s availability in recent weeks.

McKennie returned from a six-month loan spell at Leeds United last summer and has become a key player under Massimiliano Allegri in 2023-24, providing 10 assists in 31 games across all competitions for Juventus.

The American midfielder joined the Old Lady from Schalke 04 in the summer of 2020 on an initial loan deal with an option to buy for €21m which Juventus activated in 2021.
