Juventus are preparing a deal for Chelsea superstar N’Golo Kante

According to the Evening Standard, Serie A giants Juventus are preparing to offer a deal to Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante, whose contract at Stamford Bridge expires at the end of this season.

If the French international does not sign an extension with the Blues by January, the Italian club can make a formal proposal to sign him for free next summer. A pre-contract agreement could then be a real possibility.

Juventus can make a formal offer to N’Golo Kante in January.

As per an Italian source Calciomercato, the Turin-based club have scouted Kante a number of times. This was after the Frenchman was offered as a makeweight by Chelsea in a deal to sign Matthijs de Ligt.

The new regime at Stamford Bridge verbally offered the World Cup winner a contract extension of two years, with an option of a third. He rejected citing that the length of the contract should be longer.

From Chelsea’s viewpoint, Kante is 31 now and does miss a lot of games these days due to injuries. In the last 12-18 months, the Frenchman has struggled to string together a run of games without picking up any form of injury.

Maybe this is the time to let go of the player who has done so much for the club. He will always be a Chelsea legend having played key roles in the club winning the Premier League in 2017 and the Champions League in 2021.
