Alvaro Morata could be set for a third spell at Juventus, with the Old Lady plotting a sensational return for the Atletico Madrid striker, according to Calciomercato.

The Bianconeri are planning for a summer overhaul, and Massimiliano Allegri has a striker in his shortlist of possible targets despite having Dusan Vlahovic, Arkadiusz Milik and Moise Kean in his ranks.

Vlahovic has been linked with a move away from the Allianz Stadium after struggling to live up to his enormous price tag. The 23-year-old is a misfit in Allegri’s tactical plan, netting just eight goals and two assists this season.

Juventus are reportedly willing to sell this summer, but they will demand at least €70 million for the Serbia international.

He is not short of admirers from Europe as several Premier League clubs, including Arsenal, are monitoring his situation.

Milik, who is on loan from Ligue 1 club Olympique Marseille, has contributed just six goals in 17 outings, while Kean can only boast five league goals in 25 appearances.

Despite the Juventus strikers struggling to deliver the goods consistently, only league leaders Napoli and Inter Milan have scored more goals than the Bianconeri this season.

Allegri is keen to work with a striker that is more familiar with his system, and Morata seems to tick all the boxes for the Italian tactician.

The Spanish striker scored 59 times and assisted a further 39 in 185 appearances across two spells with the Italian giants.

The 30-year-old has rippled the net ten times in 26 outings for Diego Simeone’s side this season which is more than Allegri’s current crop has managed.

Morata’s contract with Atletico runs until 2024, which bodes well for Juventus’ chances of re-signing the striker.

However, his return will depend on Milik’s long-term future, with Juventus considering whether or not to make his loan move permanent.

Even with a 15-point deduction, Allegri’s side are still within touching distance of the top four, with just seven points separating them from fourth-placed AC Milan.

The Bianconeri have also made it to the Europa League quarter-finals, and what started as an abysmal campaign could yet have a fairytale finish.
