Juventus owner John Elkann showed his support to the team and Thiago Motta today, attending a training session at Continassa and meeting the coach and club directors.

“John Elkann was in attendance at Continassa this morning, attending Juventus’ training session two days before the side’s Champions League match-up against Manchester City,” Juventus said in a statement on Monday.

“Exor’s CEO met Maurizio Scanavino, Cristiano Giuntoli and Thiago Motta at the Training Centre, the best way to approach Wednesday’s big night together, united and determined.”

Juventus are still unbeaten in Serie A but have collected nine draws in 15 matches and are off to their second-worst start to a Serie A campaign in the last 14 years.

With today’s reunion at Continassa, Elkann wanted to fully support coach Thiago Motta and the club directors.

The Old Lady will host Manchester City in a key Champions League Round 6 fixture on Wednesday.

Both sides have collected eight points in the opening five European fixtures this season and are currently outside the top eight, which gives direct access to the Round of 16.

Motta signed a three-year contract in Turin last summer, replacing Massimiliano Allegri after three seasons.

Juventus’ only defeat this term came in a home Champions League match against VfB Stuttgart in October. The Germans secured a 1-0 win thanks to a late winner from ex-Atalanta striker El Bilal Touré.
