Juventus have opted against signing Barcelona’s Memphis Depay due to his salary demands.
The Dutchman has looked set to join the Italian giants for the past few weeks with the forward and Barcelona both happy to go their separate ways.
Talks between him and Juventus progressed well and he was reportedly close to signing a two-year contract, set to do so after agreeing to terminate his current one with the Spanish side.
However, the deal has now fallen through with Juve deeming his salary demands, said to be around €7m per year, to be too high.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, they are now close to signing Arkadiusz Milik from Marseille on loan instead, bringing their interest in Memphis to an end.
His most likely destination now seems to be England, with Manchester United and Tottenham said to be interested, but he could also end up staying at Barca.
