Juventus have taken the lead in the race to sign Romelu Lukaku, according to the Telegraph.
Their report states that Inter, who were heavy favourites to re-sign the Belgian striker, are considered completely out of it after having two bids rejected for the player.
It is also suggested that the Nerazzurri were angered by Lukaku’s willingness to discuss a deal with arch-rivals Juventus after spending weeks negotiating with Chelsea.
His decision to entertain a move to Turin is partly motivated by the decision from Simone Inzaghi not to start him in last month’s Champions League final.
For Juventus to seal a deal for the 30-year-old, they will look to sell Dušan Vlahović first to fund the move, with the Serbian striker being linked to both Spurs and PSG in recent weeks.
Lukaku will return to Chelsea training on Tuesday but will not be part of Mauricio Pochettino’s squad for the US tour, which departs 24 hours before his arrival back at the club.
