Juventus are formally entering the race to sign Dusan Vlahovic, and they look far more likely to do a deal than Arsenal as things stand.

Romeo Agresti of Goal Italia reported on Monday night that Juventus were preparing to submit their first official offer to complete the January signing of Dusan Vlahovic.

Charles Watts described the transfer as Vlahovic’s “dream move”.

There were even some reports of a fee agreement on Monday, with Giacomo Iacobellis of TuttoMercatoWeb among those to claim the two clubs had reached a deal at €67m.

Other reports in the Italian media suggested a medical could take place at the end of the week, with Vlahovic set to earn €7m per season.

The Athletic suggest there’s still some work to be done, with doubts remaining over Juventus’ ability to structure a deal that meets Fiorentina’s demands – which is a fee of €70m, upfront.

But the same outlet adds that some within Arsenal have always suspected Vlahovic wanted to stay in Italy and join Juventus, so the move seems somewhat inevitable.

To that end, Sky Sports report that the player’s agent never considered any offers from Arsenal or Tottenham Hotspur.

Arsenal will now need to move on to other targets before the January transfer window closes on Monday, as they’re still hoping to bring in a centre-forward.
