Legendary former Juventus midfielder Alessio Tacchinardi believes that Inter coach Simone Inzaghi has done great work from the foundations left by Antonio Conte at the club.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster TMW Radio, the 45-year-old highlighted the job that Inzaghi has done in leading the club through a period of transition while still maintaining the strong foundations from last season.

Inzaghi was always likely to have a difficult task replacing Conte, with the former Juventus, Italy, and Chelsea boss having guided the club to their first Scudetto in eleven years while at the helm.

However, the former Lazio coach always seemed a logical successor Conte due to certain stylistic similarities between their tactical ideas of the game.

In truth, Inter play quite differently now than they had under their former coach, but Inzaghi has successfully implemented a new vision without losing the strong points which the team had under his predecessor.

“We know that Antonio Conte is a phenomenon,” Tacchnidardi stated. “He gives a club a completely new mentality. Inter today has a working culture.”

“I give Inzaghi credit for having taken the baton from a top coach,” he continued. “He has done well in exploiting the work of Conte. I don’t know if Inzaghi would have succeeded without it.”
