Juventus Legend Alessandro Del Piero: “Inter Coach Simone Inzaghi Has Silenced His Doubters” | OneFootball

Legendary former Inter forward Alessandro Del Piero believes that Simone Inzaghi has proved himself as coach at the Nerazzurri this season.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, the Bianconeri legend praised the Inter coach for overcoming any doubts that there may have been about him and showing that he is up to the task.

Inzaghi had already earned a very positive reputation for himself based on his four seasons in charge of Lazio, but there were some doubts about whether he would be up to the task of taking over last season’s Italian champions and keeping the momentum going.

However, contrary to these doubts, the 45-year-old has put his imprint on a Nerazzurri team who have confidently surged to the top of the Serie A table, and also made it into the knockout rounds of the Champions League with a game to spare.

Del Piero stated that “We had a number of doubts about him – he did very well at Lazio, but we didn’t know how he would have reacted at a great team like Inter, especially after Conte’s departure and everything they went through.”

He went on that “He is doing very well on a number of levels, even considering that Inter have the strongest squad.”
