Injury and suspensions are beginning to stack up for Juventus, who might have only 15 outfield players available for next weekend’s visit from Lazio in Serie A, according to the latest updates.
Of those 16 outfielders, three were considered Next Gen players at the beginning of the 2024-25 campaign.
Juventus will be without Francisco Conceicao through suspension. Nico Gonzalez is out, as is long-term absentee Arkadiusz Milik. Gleison Bremer will also be out for the majority of the 2024-25 campaign, while Timothy Weah and Teun Koopmeiners are big doubts heading into next weekend’s game.
Weah might be fit enough to contribute against Lazio, but is not expected to last the full 90 minutes.
The defensive and attacking areas will need to be reshuffled as a result of Juve’s recent injury concerns. Pierre Kalulu and Federico Gatti are expected to start at centre-back, which means that Danilo, Nicolo Savona, Juan Cabal and Andrea Cambiaso are competing for a start at full-back.
Cambiaso could be deployed further up the pitch, though, and could possibly rotate with Weah on the right-wing, according to Friday’s reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Kenan Yildiz could either start through the middle, or out on the left-wing again. If he is played in the no.10 role, then Samuel Mbangula will start on the flank. If Yildiz is played out wide, then Douglas Luiz or Nicolo Fagioli could be played in an advanced midfield role.
Currently available Juventus players: Di Gregorio, Perin, Pinsoglio, Danilo, Savona, Rouhi, Kalulu, Gatti, Cambiaso, Cabal, Locatelli, McKennie, Thuram, Douglas Luiz, Fagioli, Yildiz, Mbangula, Vlahovic.
Injured: Bremer, Nico Gonzalez, Milik, Adzic.
Suspended: Conceicao.
Doubts: Koopmeiners, Weah.
