Juventus are looking for a long-term replacement for Wojciech Szczesny and have reportedly identified Monza’s Michele Di Gregorio as their primary target.

The 33-year-old Polish goalkeeper has continued to be an important figure in Massimiliano Allegri’s squad this term, making 23 league appearances, but he’s now entered the last 18 months of his contract in Turin and the club are starting to look ahead to the future.

Juventus, under the guidance of sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli, are still building their sustainable project and are looking around for the right young players to bolster Allegri’s squad ahead of their return to the Champions League next season.

As reported by Andrea Ramazzotti of Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus believe Di Gregorio is the right option to replace Szczesny as their long-term number one and work has now started for the Monza goalkeeper.

Despite his history with Inter and admiration of Samir Handanovic, the 26-year-old Italian would be happy to make the move to the Old Lady.

Monza value Di Gregorio at around €20m, the same fee Tottenham paid for Empoli’s Guglielmo Vicario last summer, and they’re open to selling him this summer.
