Juventus will be hoping that Paulo Dybala does them one more favour in this evening’s match between Roma and Inter Milan.
This is highlighted in today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews.
Last weekend’s Derby d’Italia felt like a real turning point in the Serie A title race.
Inter went four points clear at the top of the table, with a game in hand.
But both the Nerazzurri and the Bianconeri knew full well that there is a long way to go. And any slip-up by the former can still be capitalized on by the latter, who are certainly within touching distance.
In that respect, Juventus could even be hoping that Inter’s momentum comes to a screeching halt right away.
The Nerazzurri face Roma at the Stadio Olimpico this evening.
On paper, this will certainly be one of Inter’s tougher away matches remaining this season.
So Juventus will be holding their breath hoping that a Giallorossi team who have won two in a row under new coach Daniele De Rossi do them a favour.
And they could also be relying on a familiar face.
Roma’s star man is 30-year-old Argentine international Dybala.
There are few players who can make something happen from nothing quite like the Argentine.
Juventus fans know that well from the seven years that Dybala spent at the Allianz Stadium.
However, the Argentine left the club on a free transfer in the summer of 2021, after his contract with the Bianconeri expired.
Inter had reportedly been close to signing Dybala that summer.
But in the end it was Roma who signed the Argentine after he had made his name with Juventus in Serie A.
And whilst Dybala has been prevented by injuries from starring on a consistent basis for the Giallorossi, when he has gotten on the pitch, he has often been decisive for them.
Juventus will hope that’s the case this evening against Inter.
