Tottenham Hotspur have added Juventus defender Gleison Bremer to their summer shopping list, according to the Daily Mail.
Spurs are reportedly monitoring the Brazilian ahead of a potential move amid plans to further strengthen their back line.
Coming off the back of an appalling campaign where they failed to qualify for Europe, Tottenham are looking to bolster their squad to avoid a repeat.
They conceded a worrisome 63 goals last term and have identified their defence as an area that requires significant reinforcement.
Bremer joined the Bianconeri in a €41 million move from Torino last summer. He made 43 appearances across all competitions for Massimiliano Allegri’s side chipping in with five goals and an assist.
While Juventus need to generate funds to aid their financial predicament, it remains to be seen if they are willing to part ways with Bremer after only a year.
Bremer is attracting interest from the Premier League, but Spurs are reportedly in front of the queue. However, Juventus will demand at least £50m to part ways with the defender.
They have seemingly given up on their pursuit of Inter Milan’s highly-rated centre-back Alessandro Bastoni, with the Nerazzurri unwilling to sell him this summer.
They have already opened talks with the 24-year-old over a contract renewal. Although both parties are yet to reach an agreement, Inter have shown a reluctance to do business, forcing Spurs to look elsewhere.
Tottenham are in talks to sign Barcelona outcast Clement Lenglet on a permanent deal after the Frenchman established himself as a key part of the squad during his loan stint.
However, they want to add at least one more defender amid uncertainty surrounding Davinson Sanchez’s future.
Spurs want to build a competitive squad for new manager Ange Postecoglou whose primary objective is to return the club to the Champions League places.
They are set for a busy transfer window, having already signed Dejan Kulusevski on a permanent deal. However, uncertainty over Harry Kane’s future abounds, with potential suitors circling.
