Juventus defender Tiago Djalo has reportedly given his approval to a transfer to Roma, who are currently negotiating with the Old Lady over the final details of a loan with option to buy.
Roma contacted Juventus on Monday to discuss Djalo’s availability.
According to updates from La Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus are requesting a €1m loan fee for the season, with a €6m option to buy plus a cut of the profits from any future transfer.
Tuesday’s report suggests that Roma are willing to pay up to €7m for the buy option, but that would be in place of a sell-on clause. The two clubs will continue to iron out the final details in the coming hours.
If all goes well, Roma and Juventus could reach a final agreement as early as Tuesday night, according to this afternoon’s update.
If the move does go through, Roma will be the third Serie A club that Djalo has represented, as he also spent time on Milan’s books as a youth player. It will also be the second season in a row that Juventus have loaned a defender to Roma, who also had Dean Huijsen for the back end of the 2023-24 campaign before his move to AFC Bournemouth.
He moved to Juventus from Lille in January at a cost of €3.6m plus up to €3.1m in bonuses. He was into the final six months of his contract in Ligue 1 at the time. However, he now fins himself further down the pecking order under Thiago Motta, who looks set to stick with a back four rather than a back three this season.
Djalo has therefore requested a move away from the club this summer, despite only joining Juventus seven months ago.
