Juventus close door on Adrien Rabiot return

This afternoon Juventus have closed the door on a return for Adrien Rabiot (29) with the France international still unattached to a club despite leaving the Italian side at the start of July.

Rabiot has struggled to find a suitable club that will meet his requirements. The midfielder had been on the market throughout the summer and there were constant reports that he was in negotiations with various teams across Europe and the Middle East.

In August, Liverpool were linked with a move for the midfielder, while Manchester United who have long held an interest in Rabiot have reportedly dropped their interest. Reports suggest that Rabiot’s wage demands remain an impediment for the player with clubs unable or unwilling to meet his needs.

With little movement, there was perhaps the chance that Rabiot could return to Juventus. The Italian club had been keen on reaching an agreement for an extension ahead of his departure. However, even that door has been shut.

Thiago Motta explained in a press conference today, “He didn’t call me. I love him as a boy and a player but he took a different path and I wish him luck in finding a team where he can express his talent.”
