Paulo Dybala opened the scoring midway through the first half when he fired in after a nice one-two with Dejan Kulusevski.

Giorgio Chiellini then thought he’d made it 2-0 when he poked home a rebound from Juan Cuadrado’s free-kick, but the goal was ruled out by VAR for offside against Moise Kean.

Salernitana went close to an equaliser in the 58th minute when Luca Ranieri hit the inside of the post.

And they were made to regret that miss when Juve substitute Álvaro Morata finished off Federico Bernardeschi’s cut-back to make it 2-0 with 20 minutes left on the clock.

Dybala then had the chance to put the icing on the kick when Morata was fouled and Juve were awarded an injury-time penalty, but the Argentine blazed his spot-kick over the bar.

That result leaves the Bianconeri 7th in Serie A, while Salernitana remain rooted to the foot of the table
