Juventus have begun their pre-season without the unauthorised absentee Douglas Luiz, but the Bianconeri are still building their team as Igor Tudor needs five more new signings, reports Gazzetta.

Juventus have begun their pre-season preparations in Turin, but didn’t see Douglas Luiz arrive at their training centre. The Bianconeri had not authorised the Brazilian’s absence, so the club will take disciplinary measures and accelerate negotiations for his sale.

Francisco Conceiçao and Jonathan David have not arrived at Continassa either, but there’s no issue here as they had agreed to a slightly longer holiday period with the club.

David is one of the new Juventus signings this summer, while the second, João Mário, underwent medical examinations this morning.

New Juventus General Manager Damien Comolli is actively working to bring reinforcements as the new campaign starts in just one month.

Coach Igor Tudor had demanded three more signings to make Juventus credible title contenders again in 2025-26, but Gazzetta reports that the Serie A giants will need at least five more new faces to compete at the highest levels in Italy and Europe.

The Bianconeri surely need one more centre-forward as Dusan Vlahovic is expected to leave. Talks with PSG for Randal Kolo Muani are ongoing, but the Bianconeri are also keeping a close eye on Santiago Castro (Bologna) and Rasmus Hojlund (Manchester United).

Jadon Sancho is another possible reinforcement, but only if Nico Gonzalez leaves, while a new centre-back is surely needed in Turin with Leonardo Balerdi and Jeff Chabot among the Bianconeri’s options.

Morten Hjulmand, Yves Bissouma and Sofyan Amrabat are the Old Lady’s targets in central midfield as Sandro Tonali and Davide Frattesi are too expensive, while right-back Nahuel Molina has been discussed with Atletico Madrid in recent days.
