Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus were the other clubs keen on Jadon Sancho this summer transfer window. However, the forward joined Chelsea on the final matchday and explained his decision to eventually join the Blues over other interested clubs.

Sancho joined the Stamford Bridge club on a season-long loan, but the Blues have an obligation to buy him permanently next summer for a fee between £20 million and £25 million, depending on Chelsea’s performance this season.

Nonetheless, there were other interested clubs, such as PSG, that could pay this sum and part, if not all, of his salary. If the Englishman wanted the Parisians, he could have done more to ensure a move to the French capital if returning to Old Trafford was out of the question.

In an interview with Chelsea’s official website, Sancho explained his reason for wanting to move to London and attempt to revive his career at Stamford Bridge after he showed glimpses of life during his loan spell last season with Borussia Dortmund.

“I think it’s the manager who really drew me to the project,” Sancho explained. “I knew him from his time with Pep Guardiola in Manchester City. He spoke to me on the phone about this project and what he was building here, and for a young player like myself it’s exciting and I can’t wait to get started.”
