Two Premier League clubs have expressed their interest in bringing Douglas Luiz back to England, and both Juventus and the player are reportedly open to completing a move.

The midfielder’s adaptation to Italian football was hindered by injuries and a lack of trust from his manager Thiago Motta, resulting in limited playing time.

The Brazilian has started only two Serie A games since his arrival and barely played about 40 minutes of first-team football across three competitions in his last two months at the club. With things unlikely to change soon, both he and the Bianconeri are considering parting ways in the January transfer window.

According to Sky Sports News, two unspecified Premier League clubs are keen on signing Douglas Luiz this month, with the player described as ‘very open’ to the prospect of returning to England.

The 26-year-old swapped Aston Villa with the Allianz Stadium last summer in a deal worth around €50m, with winger Samuel Iling-Junior and midfielder Enzo Barrenechea featuring in a package which also included a figure of around €25m.

As much as Juventus are willing to offload the Brazil international, they’d like to recoup part of their investment and would only consider loan offers including an obligation to buy.
