Juventus are currently leading the race for Riccardo Calafiori as the Bianconeri have made the ‘strongest enquiries’ about the Bologna defender.
Football Italia transfer expert Matteo Moretto provided the latest updates on the future of Calafiori in his latest DailyBriefing transfer column for Caught Offside.
Calafiori has impressed under Thiago Motta at the Stadio Dall’Ara this season, emerging as one of the most exciting young Italian defenders in the league.
Italian sources have recently claimed that Tottenham are among the clubs scouting the product of Roma academy, but according to Moretto, Juventus are currently leading the race to sign the 21-year-old.
Moretto said the Bianconeri have made the ‘strongest enquiries’ about the Bologna defender, but warned that it is still too early to know where the U21 Italy international will play next season.
Calafiori will surely be among the hottest names in the summer transfer window, and Luciano Spalletti could include him in the Italy squad for Euro 2024. The Azzurri CT let Calafiori play for Italy U21 during the March break only because the Azzurrini played European qualifiers instead of friendlies.
