Juventus have reached an agreement for the signing of Jonathan David on a free transfer (h/t journalist Fabrizio Romano).
The Canadian international was one of the hottest free agents on the market after his contract with Lille expired on June 30.
Napoli initially appeared to be the front-runners for David, but Juve overtook them in the transfer race.
After agreeing on personal terms with David, the Old Lady has now sorted out the agent fee with his representative.
He will sign a new five-year deal, earning €6 million per year plus €2m in bonuses.
With his medicals scheduled in the coming days, David is expected to become Juve’s first signing of the summer.
The 25-year-old bagged 109 goals and 30 assists in 232 appearances for Les Dogues.
Juve have struck gold with a Bosman deal for David, who was on the radar of a host of European heavyweights.
The former Gent star will look to continue his rich vein of form at Juve, who are also looking to sign Napoli striker Victor Osimhen.
They are ready to break the bank for the Nigerian centre-forward, who has been linked with Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool, Galatasaray and Al-Hilal.
Juve are keen on offloading Dusan Vlahovic to generate funds for the move. The Siberian, whose contract expires next year, is not in the club’s plans.
They also want to retain French striker Randal Kolo Muani, whose loan stint from Paris Saint-Germain expires after the Club World Cup.
