Juventus defeated PSV Eindhoven 3-1 in the first week of the UEFA Champions League. Kenan Yıldız scored the first goal of the match before strikes from Weston McKennie and Nico González secured the points for the hosts.

In the first week of the UEFA Champions League 2024-2025 season, Italian team Juventus faced Dutch outfit PSV Eindhoven at the Allianz Stadium in Turin.

Starting the match by displaying a superior game against their opponents, Juventus took a 1-0 lead with a goal scored by Kenan Yıldız in the 21st minute. The Bianconeri doubled the score with a goal from Weston McKennie in the 27th minute. The first half ended with the home team leading 2-0.

Thiago Motta’s students, who continued their effective play in the second half, increased the score to 3-0 with a goal scored by Nicolás González in the 52nd minute. Kenan Yıldız, who scored the first goal, was replaced by Nicolo Fagioli in the 69th minute of the match.

PSV pulled one back through Ismael Saibari in the 93rd minute. There were no more goals in the remaining minutes, and Juventus left the field with a 3-1 victory.

With this result, the Italian side have started this season’s Champions League, which is organised in a new format, with a convincing victory.

Breaking Del Piero’s Record

After his stylish goal, Kenan Yıldız became the youngest player in Juventus’ history to score a goal in the UEFA Champions League at 19 years and 135 days. The previous record belonged to Italian legend Alessandro Del Piero, who scored against Borussia Dortmund on September 13, 1995 (20 years and 308 days).
