The match was an entertaining affair right from the first whistle with both sides hunting for the opener.

Attempts from Barbara Bonansea and Arianna Caruso fell just short for Juventus while Lindsey Thomas remained a threat at the other end.

The breakthrough would come just before the break as midfielder Christy Grimshaw made things 1-0 for Milan.

However, a series of unfortunate events in the second half would allow Juventus back in the game.

Bonansea’s cross was deflected in by Valentina Bergamaschi to make things 1-1 and three minutes later Milan were down to 10 players as Laia Codina was sent off after a second yellow.

With the advantage, Juventus continued to push for a late winner and despite Milan stifling most of their attempts, Cristiana Girelli scored a late winner to complete the comeback for the title.
