Justin Kluivert has a very long career ahead of him but already has plans to hang up his boots at Ajax.
The son of Barcelona legend Patrick Kluivert left Ajax for Roma in summer 2018, missing out on the Dutch club’s stunning run to the Champions League semi-finals.
Kluivert has already earned two caps for the Netherlands and is a regular with the U-21s, something he credits greatly to his €17.25m move away from the club.
“That is my dream, to finish where I started. Certainly,” he told Helden Magazine.
“I would have liked to be there (for Ajax’s Champions League run). I do not regret that I left Ajax, but I certainly would have liked to be there. I think several players do.
“If I had stayed with Ajax now, I don’t know if I would have been a regular with Oranje. Maybe I wouldn’t have played, or maybe I would have been with another club now.”
This season with Roma, Kluivert has made 27 appearances in all competitions, scoring seven goals and providing two assists.
