ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

Liverpool signed Van Dijk from Southampton for a transfer fee of €84.65 million back in January 2018.

Since then, the Reds have won four major trophies. Van Dijk has been a big part of the club’s most recent success.

The Dutchman has made 139 appearances for Liverpool. Van Dijk was named runner-up for the 2019 Ballon d’Or, which provides an insight into just how well he has played for Liverpool in recent times.

In terms of Marsh’s tweet, we completely agree. Van Dijk makes defending look very easy.

The 30-year-old has had a very good start to the 2021-22 Premier League campaign. After eight matches, Van Dijk is averaging a WhoScored player rating of 7.18.
