According to David Lynch, Liverpool sources have insisted that Jurgen Klopp plans to make more use of his squad in the forthcoming season following a campaign of disruption last time out.
We’ve already seen the likes of Kostas Tsimikas impress more in pre-season, perhaps leading to further opportunities when the Premier League season begins.
It’s players like the left-back who need to be used more often, too, when considering the amount of minutes Andy Robertson racks up over a season. It comes as a great surprise that he is yet to suffer an injury, and whilst Liverpool’s luck is still up when it comes to the Scotsman, they must rest him when the opportunity allows.
ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT
With a depleted squad, Jurgen Klopp managed to guide the Reds to a third placed finish last season. Now, with a full fit squad, the German should be able to take Liverpool back to the heights of the 19/20 season.
This time around, he should have Kostas Tsimikas, Harvey Elliott, Ibrahima Konate and, if his luck really comes in, Naby Keita throughout the season.
Add onto that the return of Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez, resulting in Fabinho’s return to midfield, and Liverpool once again look a force to be reckoned with.
