Jurgen Klopp issues injury comments on three key Liverpool stars | OneFootball

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has offered an update on injured stars Virgil van Dijk, Jordan Henderson and Joel Matip in his latest pre-match press conference ahead of the clash with Leeds United.

The Reds have had to do without several key men over the course of the season and, indeed, the aforementioned three have all missed significant portions of the season.

Virgil van Dijk has been the biggest miss, of course, with nearly the whole campaign going without him featuring for the Reds, whilst Joel Matip has been injured since January and Jordan Henderson for the last month or so.

However, as quoted by the Liverpool Echo, he revealed that the three are all in a ‘good way’ at the moment and hopefully it won’t be too long before they do indeed make their Liverpool returns.

ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

Of course, we shouldn’t expect any of them back just yet given how serious their injuries were but at least they appear to be making progress and hopefully they will return stronger than ever.

Next season will be the realistic aim for all three, of course, and we’ll just hope an injury record like this year’s never repeats itself.
