Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp insists the situation with Mohamed Salah is "completely resolved" after the pair's touchline spat against West Ham United.

Salah came off the bench late on against the Hammers but, just before he entered the pitch, was involved in an animated exchange with Klopp which was overheard by the West Ham substitutes.

Amid suggestions that the incident has further derailed Klopp's farewell, the Liverpool boss insisted his relationship with Salah, who said in the aftermath of the game that "there would be fire" if he spoke, is as strong as ever.

"It's completely resolved. It's no problem," Klopp said. "If we wouldn't know each other for that long, I'm not sure how we would deal with it. But we know each other for that long and respect each other too much so it's really no problem.

"I think we have the right to deal with these kind of things completely independent of any expectations from the outside. We are absolutely fine with it. That's a non-story.

"But in general, the best situation would be everybody is in the best possible place. We win the games, we score loads of goals.

"Yes, then the situation would have probably not been exactly like that because Mo would not have been on the bench in the first place. It all depends on each other."

With Klopp leaving the club this summer, it has been suggested that Salah could also head for pastures new. Saudi Arabian officials have identified the Egyptian as a top transfer target this summer, but it was reported that Liverpool have no plans to part ways with the Egyptian as he approaches the final year of his contract.

Klopp was asked for an update on Salah's future at the club, but he stressed he no longer has any involvement in those discussions.

"Look, you all have to get used to that it's not my subject anymore, these kinds of things," he said. "Mo, how we said it before, what a player he is, it's incredible. But I don't think I should speak about [his future], to be honest. Other people will decide that, especially Mo. All fine.

"I don't have any signs that it will not be like that, but I'm really the wrong person already for a few weeks to talk about these kinds of things.

"The future of the club, I just try to help to prepare the basis for that, and I think that's what we did. But then, these decisions, they will be done by other people, not by me."
