Jurgen Klopp delivers Caoimhin Kelleher verdict after clean sheet v Arsenal
Anfield Watch
Liverpool made the perhaps bold call of playing Caoimhin Kelleher against Arsenal on Thursday night but it certainly had no negative impact on the side with the way he performed and kept a clean sheet.
There was a lot of debate going into the game with Arsenal whether we'd see Kelleher keep his spot as cup goalkeeper or whether, as it was a big semi-final, Alisson would be coming into the team.
Jurgen Klopp opted for the Irishman, though, and he duly delivered with a clean sheet and a composed performance that has led to this ringing endorsement from the manager:
Kelleher could be a number one at plenty of big clubs and his quality is clear for all to see.
The Reds have two really top class goalkeepers now, and the battle is on to see who will face Chelsea in the final.
It'd be no shock, too, if Kelleher got the nod.
