Speaking to Sky Germany after RB Leipzig’s 1-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain, head coach Julian Nagelsmann expressed his anger towards the officials for awarding the French champions a penalty.

“I don’t think Paris had a real chance in the game and the penalty was a joke,” said Nagelsmann. “That decision at Champions League level – that’s really sad. It was a dive, there was zero contact. VAR was probably watching another game.

“Something nuances make the difference and in the end it would have been deserved if we had rewarded ourselves. Now we are holding worse cards in the group, we have to win our two games and hope that Paris doesn’t succeed.”

Marcel Sabitzer clashed with Angel Di Maria inside the penalty area which resulted in Neymar scoring the only goal of the game after 11 minutes, meaning that RB Leipzig must win their remaining fixtures & hope that PSG drop points.
