Julian Brandt (26) wants to stay at Borussia Dortmund beyond the summer and fight for his place at the club, according to Patrick Berger of Sport1.

Yet to start a game for Borussia Dortmund, Brandt came on as a substitute against Bayer Leverkusen and Freiburg, playing 36 minutes across both games and creating Youssoufa Moukoko’s goal against the latter.

Per the report, Brandt was a candidate for sale should BVB receive a reasonable offer but the German attacking-midfielder has made the decision to remain at the club, where he feels comfortable and wants to fight for a place in Edin Terzić’s starting XI.

Brandt, advised by his father Jürgen, has received inquiries from clubs in the past but feels as though he’s in good hands at Borussia Dortmund. Speaking in July, sporting director Sebastian Kehl also praised the German: “Julian made a real step forward last season, scored significantly more goals and was involved in more assists. He has big plans for this season and wants to go to the World Cup.”

Sport1 further add that Milan made a loose enquiry about signing Brandt but for now with two-years remaining on his current deal, the player will remain at BVB.
