Jules Kounde joined by other big name on Chelsea’s defender shortlist | OneFootball

Chelsea’s number one target at centre-back this summer is Jules Kounde, that much is clear.

We’ve heard so much about him, for so long, including from those high up at Sevilla, that we’re convinced that deal will happen.

But there’s likely to be another defender joining him, and their identity is less certain. RB Leipzig’s Josko Gvardiol is a name that has suddenly come to the forefront, but the Telegraph name another option that’s been in the background for longer – Pau Torres of Villareal.

Their excellent Champions League run brought him a lot of attention this season, but he’s been consistently good for a long time and has long been linked with Manchester United and other Premier League sides.

Now that the takeover is almost complete, we can finally start to see progress made on all these fronts, and it will be interesting to see which rumours end up bubbling up as regularly as those about Kounde.
