A remarkable statistic, highlighting the ongoing brilliance of Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham, has come to the fore on Wednesday night.

This, of course, comes fresh off Bellingham’s latest telling contribution in Los Blancos’ colours.

Real marked their return to action a short time ago, welcoming German outfit RB Leipzig to the Santiago Bernabéu for the 2nd leg of the Champions League Last-16 tie between the clubs.

And though they looked some way short of their best on the night, when all was said and done, Carlo Ancelotti’s troops did enough to march on to the competition’s quarter-finals.

This came owing largely to one moment of individual quality, which saw the aforementioned Bellingham combine with partner in crime Vinícius Jr. to open the scoring in Spain’s capital.

After picking the ball up in an advanced position outside the Leipzig penalty area, Bellingham waited for the absolute opportune moment, before slipping Vinícius in to finish by way of a perfectly-weighted pass.

And, as alluded to above, in the process, the England international joined an altogether exclusive club.

As revealed by statisticians Opta, Bellingham, despite being a midfielder, ‘is the third-youngest player ever to either score or assist a goal in six consecutive UEFA Champions League appearances’.

The only players to have managed as much at a younger age? Manchester City frontman Erling Haaland, and Bellingham’s soon-to-be Real Madrid teammate Kylian Mbappé.
