Luis Fernando Tena enjoyed a winning return to the Estadio Akron as his Juárez team proved to good for Chivas on Saturday.
Tena, who was sacked by the Flock last August after a disappointing start to Guard1anes 2020, ensured that his successor Víctor Manuel Vucetich finds himself in a similar position as Chivas remain winless after four games of the Guard1anes 2021 season.
Los Bravos opened the scoring in the 10th minute when Darío Lezcano took advantage of some sluggish defending to put his side in front.
The visitors doubled their advantage in the 29th minute as they cut through the Chivas defence.
Lezcano turned provider as his brilliant flick found Matías García in plenty of space to drive a low effort past Raul Gudiño.
Juaréz were lucky to have retained their full compliment just moments later. Alexis Vega was in full flow down the left flank when Flavio Santos committed a cynical foul that caught the winger high and late on the knee.
Santos escaped with a yellow card when replays suggested it was deserving of red.
From the resulting free-kick, Chivas striker José Juan Macías was desperately unlucky to see his bullet header crash off the crossbar.
However, Macías threw his side a lifeline 12 minutes from time when he met Uriel Antuna’s cross to head home superbly.
It was the best that Los Rojiblancos could muster, however, as they fell to a second consecutive defeat.
