Real Betis left-back Juan Miranda has said that he does not want his Copa del Rey final winning penalty to define his career in green and white.
The 22-year old has stated that he does not want to live in the past, instead wanting to live in the present as he looks forward to creating another memorable season.
The fullback largely played second fiddle to Álex Moreno throughout last season, and picked up his first minutes of the new campaign by playing the full 90 in a pre-season friendly vs Marseille.
“I don’t want to live off the Copa goal, I want to be remembered for being Juan Miranda. Not only for the goal, but also for my entire career, which I hope will be more goals, more games, more titles.”
He aims to take one game at a time: “Our philosophy last year was to go game-by-game, setting goals for ourselves. The important thing is to win, and as you win, the goals and titles will get closer.”
