Jović set to join Milan from Fiorentina on a one-year loan deal, Sevilla refused the offer of the Rossoneri for Mir | OneFootball

Luka Jović will be the striker that joins Milan, as all other options collapsed.

24 hours ago, Milan fans told they were getting Mehdi Taremi from Porto, 6 hours ago they thought they were getting Patson Daka from Leicester, and 2 hours ago they thought it would be Rafa Mir from Sevilla.

However, in the end it’s Luka Jović from Fiorentina, who have been dying to get rid of the striker all summer.

Milan made an offer to sign Mir on loan with option to buy, but as reported by Sky Italia and others, Sevilla couldn’t find a replacement in time and decided to take the striker off the market.

Therefore, the Rossoneri had to act quickly and decided to take Jović who was offered in this summer several times to the Diavolo, who had not considered him a good option to join the club. However, now that time is running out and there are no more any options, Milan chose to sign Jović.

The Serbian striker will join on a free loan for one season. Milan will cover his €2.5m salary. His contract expires in 2024, so in essence Milan will be able to decide in May whether to get him permanently. A super low-cost solution for Milan, who strongly wanted an understudy for Giroud.

Jović is already at Casa Milan to sign the contract and the official statement should arrive shortly.
