Alasdair Gold confirms what Antonio Conte will work on at Tottenham during the international break

Speaking about the Tottenham Hotspur players who have remained in North London for the international break, Football. London‘s Alasdair Gold has claimed that he thinks Antonio Conte will pay specific attention to the goalkeeping situation during this break.

Gold revealed that Conte usually goes to Italy for the first few days during an international break to spend time with his family before returning to Tottenham to start training the players who remain here.

The six players that the Italian tactician has at his disposal are the two goalkeepers Fraser Forster and Brandon Austin along with four fit outfield players in Emerson Royal, Clement Lenglet, Japhet Tanganga and Harvey White.

Speaking about the situation, Gold felt that with Hugo Lloris suffering from a minor injury, Conte will be focussing on his goalies in specific.

“Forster will subconsciously be preparing that little bit more than normal just in case he does have to deputise for Lloris in the north London derby. “Spurs are remaining tight-lipped on the small thigh injury suffered by the skipper but that doesn’t particularly mean anything as they will want that level of uncertainty publicly ahead of the north London derby to throw off the opposition.”

There is absolutely no doubt that Conte will sweating over the fitness of Hugo Lloris. Especially with the derby around the corner, Spurs will be keen on having their captain fit for the clash.

If Lloris is indeed ruled out, then Spurs’ new acquisition Fraser Forster will have to fill in. It’s a huge void that the French World Cup winner will leave behind and Forster will have to be at his very best.
