In a recent interview with Give Me Sport, Bild journalist Christian Falk tipped Liverpool to sign Bayer 04 Leverkusen winger Moussa Diaby next summer. Falk said,

“I think he’s (Diaby) perfect for the Premier League.

“I always wondered why Liverpool didn’t buy him before, he would fit perfectly in this system, and I think we will see him there. But at the moment, it doesn’t look like it will be this summer.”

Diaby’s Decent Run Of Form In Germany Last Season

The Leverkusen star had a brilliant campaign at the BayArena as he was responsible for playing at a high level out on the wide areas. Diaby is currently one of the most talented wingers in Bundesliga. He netted 17 times and secured 14 assists in 42 appearances for his current employers last season on all fronts.

The eight-time France international caught the eye by averaging 1.7 shots, 1.9 key passes and 1.8 dribbles per game in the German top-flight. He was even careful when distributing possession in the opponent’s half, based on his pass success rate of 77.2% in the top tier of German football (stats via whoscored).

Jurgen Klopp

Is Diaby A Good Option For Liverpool Boss Jurgen Klopp?

Diaby can complete a few dangerous dribbles out on the flanks and has got the eye to play some decisive passes in the attacking end of the field. He is even proficient at orchestrating some space for himself to get a strike in on-target. Diaby is primarily a left-sided wide player but can even fill in as a right-winger if needed.

The French sensation has already begun to prove his worth as a productive winger in German football. Hence, he will be a decent option for Liverpool head coach Jurgen Klopp to pursue at the end of next season.

At 23, the future looks quite promising for Diaby as long as he continues to work hard on improving his offensive numbers in the coming seasons. We can expect the Leverkusen wide player to bring more goals and creativity to Klopp’s frontline at Anfield. He could even help the Reds challenge for even more silverware over the next decade.

Diaby has what it takes to serve as a suitable replacement for Sadio Mane who left Liverpool earlier this summer. Thus, Klopp should focus on getting a deal done for the French wing wizard next summer when the player will just have two years left in his Bayer Leverkusen contract.
