A journalist has said that Chelsea are still the favourites to sign one Premier League striker this summer despite recent noise.
The Blues came from a goal down to score two very late goals to win the game 2-1 against Fulham at Craven Cottage on Sunday afternoon in what was a very dramatic game of ups and downs. But for 80 minutes, it was a lot of downs for Chelsea and the woes were continuing. Thankfully, they managed to get two late goals from individual brilliance to win the game.
Still, manager Enzo Maresca did not celebrate the Chelsea win over with the away fans like all the players did at the end of the game, which was very odd. But he has explained his reasoning for this in the post match press conference, although it wont wash.
The fans were furious throughout most of the game though and certainly let the manager and the players know this at half time and throughout the game. Pedro Neto responded to the fan anger in his post-match comments after the game on Sunday.
As well as the games going on right now, and Chelsea face Everton on their next one tomorrow, we’ve heard a lot starting to brew up on transfer noise now as well.
Chelsea have always seemed to be one of the main suitors for Liam Delap, but recent noise has put other clubs in there as well and perhaps played that down a little.

But according to journalist Graeme Bailey, Chelsea are still the favourites to land Ipswich striker Delap.
Bailey told The Chelsea Chronicle this week:
He said: “Liam Delap is the main one. I still make Chelsea favourites to get him. The relationships he’s got with Maresca and those around. Chelsea have been on his trail for a long time. Since they asked about Cole Palmer they asked about Delap. It’s not a new thing.
“As we talked about before, I think Delap can see the opportunity at Chelsea. He’ll go in there thinking he can be first choice.
“I think Chelsea are ahead in that race. I think they’re firm favourites to get him. Would he be the only one? Probably, but don’t rule anything out.”
