The Whites don't look set to add the Premier League footballer to their squad, despite their links to the player.

Highlights

  1. Leeds United won't sign Bobby De Cordova-Reid, who is likely to stay in the Premier League.
  2. That's according to Graeme Bailey, who would also be surprised if Callum O'Hare joins.
  3. The Whites could have benefitted from recruiting both players.

Earlier this month, TEAMtalk reported that Leeds United were interested in securing a move for Fulham attacker Bobby De Cordova-Reid.

They weren't the only team in the mix for him though, with Everton also believed to be interested in securing an agreement for the player, even with the club potentially needing a takeover deal to materialise before they can start getting busy in the transfer market.

It has been revealed by the Cottagers that they have entered discussions to potentially tie the Jamaican down to a new contract in the English capital, but TEAMtalk believes he has turned down the offer of a two-year contract.

With the player potentially set to leave Craven Cottage, that could give the Whites the opportunity to swoop for him, but they will face a considerable amount of competition for his signature with Southampton now thought to be interested in the player.

Following the Saints' promotion back to the Premier League, at Leeds' expense, they could have an advantage over Daniel Farke's side in the race.

The winger could be a very useful player to have at Elland Road though, with the Whites not having that many wing options at their disposal right now.

Crysencio Summerville and Willy Gnonto are two options, but both of them could potentially secure an exit from Elland Road before the summer transfer window closes.

Jaidon Anthony, meanwhile, has returned to AFC Bournemouth and Jack Harrison looks set to secure another loan switch to Goodison Park, which will leave the club short of options out wide.

With Reid yet to put pen to paper on a new deal, that may have given Leeds fans hope that he would make the move to Elland Road.

But journalist Graeme Bailey has seemingly ruled out this potential summer move.

He told Leeds United News: "Callum O’Hare is not one I’ve heard massively in the last few months so I would be surprised, to be honest. But he’s a good player on a free.

"Bobby Reid will be staying in the Premier League."

Reid did fairly well last season and has a fairly impressive record for the Cottagers.

With this in mind, it would be no surprise if he stays in the top flight, either with his current team or another side.

That's a shame for Leeds, who could have benefitted from having him at their disposal, knowing that Summerville could potentially be on his way out of Elland Road this summer.

O'Hare, meanwhile, could be an excellent option to have in a central advanced midfield role, with the Whites not having a huge number of options in this area.

However, he may have to settle for a place on the pitch with Georginio Rutter also available as an advanced midfield option.

With this in mind, it would be a bit of a surprise if he makes the switch to Elland Road, knowing that he's likely to start at his current club if he remains there.
