Vinicius Jr. continues to impress with his performances for Real Madrid, and journalist Tomas Roncero has highlighted his crucial impact during a recent match.

He mentioned that the Brazilian forward not only possesses incredible skill but also demonstrates versatility, whether starting or coming off the bench.

“Vinicius has a very good thing. With his quality, of course, he’s a starter. But he can also come on from the bench, play 30 minutes, and destroy the game,” said Ronccero during his analysis for AS.

Vinicius’ ability to change the course of a game is undeniable, as seen when he was brought on during the second half after Real Madrid conceded an unfortunate own goal by Thibaut Courtois.

At that point, Madrid’s attack lacked sharpness, and although they controlled the ball, their efforts lacked a serious threat.

Espanyol bowed down to Vinicius’ samba

Once Vinicius stepped onto the pitch, everything changed. His presence revitalised the team, and Madrid’s attacking force became more cohesive and dangerous.

With the match tied at 1-1, Vinicius produced a moment of brilliance by delivering a perfectly executed pass, reminiscent of Luka Modric’s style, which set up Rodrygo for an easy goal.

This gave Madrid a 2-1 lead. Just moments later, the Brazilian was at it again, this time capitalising on a swift counterattack after Espanyol made a mistake in midfield. He finished with a low cross-shot following a perfectly timed pass from Kylian Mbappe, sealing the victory for Madrid within three minutes.

Vinicius’ influence on the game was felt in less than 40 minutes, specifically 39 minutes and 14 seconds, including added time. His performance was nothing short of electrifying, as he dismantled an Espanyol team that had entered the Santiago Bernabeu with confidence.

Although Espanyol managed to give Madrid a brief scare by taking the lead, their advantage lasted just a few minutes before Vinicius took control.

Interestingly, the doubts surrounding the cohesion of Real Madrid’s attacking trio have been significantly reduced after this performance. Vinicius has proven, once again, that he is capable of taking charge and making a difference whenever the team needs it.
